Photographer’s Note

We shot a tv commercial with 120 young performers, choreographed by a lovely Penny Jones who is also preparing a show for Munich World Cup nowadays..

Penny Jones is one of the few mass display choreographers around the world, who manages to make huge pictures by moving the crowds..

Our crowd was made of 30 dancers and 90 extras (who can move in coordination)..I was amazed to see she prepared 10 pictures for us, all flowing into the other, with rehearsals of some 16 hrs and we finished shooting in 2 days ..

I attach the animatics copy of the RIVER, this is how it looks from our camera on top.

Beautiful picture Fusun, I like the way this group of people are surrounded by the circle motion. All the compo in white tons, it looks like angels who are dancing.

A very beautiful shot, I like the contrast between the movement of the people and the others in the middle. And they are all in white ! Nice light and effect.

Fusun!!!! So happy see you here, and in good shape (relating to photos). Very good idea, and good eye. This is kind of hypnoptical portrait. I like to see the black guy in the middle. Nice to see you.
PS: I´ve been at the Cannes film festival. I saw the movie "Iklimler" by Nuri Bilge Ceylan. I did not like it at the begining but then I started to think over and started to love it. He´s very handsome and clever man in person as well.

Hello Fusun, what a gorgeous white movement shot! I first thought from the thumbnail that it'd be whirling dervishes, but no, another type of movement but nonetheless very arresting. Love the tension between the motion blurred and the still figures, all in white. And the result, as you show in the WS, is really fascinating! Great work!

Wonderfull idea, center is sharp and the outside of the ring gives the motion. I love it the way you shot the scene, giving a real interest, soft to see.

Wow what a shot Fusun, real good quality stuff. If theres any photo that portrays movement in a single frame, it's this one here. I have tried a few times to take a photo like this on the dancefloor, and have never succeeded, so I can appreciate your shot here.

This photo is electric! Lots of fluid motion among an island of static rock-solid figures. And talk about solid rock among the rushing river, the guy with the sunglasses and biceps isn't budging an inch! Solid as a rock. I love the creativity in this pic. It's been a while, but I checked and you also uploaded a picture when I was away. Good to see you ;-)
And what a lovely picture this is, the colors are so warm, and the contrast with the white is very nice. The picture breathes a very nice atmosphere. I like the quietness of the people waiting in the middle, but thge blur on the moving people is excellent!

I like a lot your composition with the people in the middle staying but surrounded by the world of people spinning round. There's a meaning... if we didn't stop we can't see the small things, the details that at the end made the meaning of life.

This is great Fusun. I know I am very late coming to the party and I am sure I am not going to add much, but the motion blur of those on the outside against the clarity of those in the middle put me in mind of the planets going around the sun. The only technical nitpick I have might be that it seems a little yellowish to me. Then again, maybe I need to calibrate my monitor again. Very nice.

Yes! it is an incredible image, full of force and dynamism, you have controlled the time of exposure perfectly, and it has created a different and interesting scene, I like the movement of the people who dance surround to that they are stopped in center, a great work.

Hi Fusun.
The good thing about photography is how it can capture movement like here, with both blur and static people in the scene. I bet when you shot this and then looked at your screen you knew you had a good one. Hope your mother is better.

This river is really flowing! If the background had been changed to red, it must have looked like the blood in veins ;-)Is it possible to see this commercial let's say, on YouTube or else?
I really like this shot - especially the harmony of colours and motion effect here but please tell me, why did you cut off the heads of the people in the background?
