Photographer's Note

The three things you need to know about New Orleans are - Bourbon street, Jazz and Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras parades are usually carried out in winter, but this picture was made on Bourbon street in May, when Mardi Gras has been already finished.

When the city was flooded after the hurricane Katrina in 2005 nobody believed that it could recover so fast. But in spring 2006 the Bourbon street was alive, with its noisy bars, celebrating people and.. Mardi Gras beads and masks. They decided to make a holiday every weekend. And these two masks, decorating the balcony on Bourbon Sreet reflect the unbreakable spirit of New Orleans!
