Photographer’s Note
This picture taken yesterday afternoon, end of May temperature 10° Celsius not extraordinarily but not pleasant for life middle in summer!
Maybe lovely for photographers always spectacular clouds to the sky.
This is a experimental picture with a 5D camera of Canon, together with a 55 - 200 lens.
Who will you comment and advice gives for the next photo !
I use a pole as tripod.
I hope you like it.

Mooi werk in ieder geval.

Hi John,
Excellent composition with beautiful colours and lighting. The sky with the white clouds looks wonderfully and makes a lovely contrst with the green land. Splendid work!

Hi John!
...wery interesting... Beautifull clouds...
and great colors... Have you ever used Polarization Filter? I believe the clouds could be more detailed...

well John, i don't wanna get rude, but i think you've made better pictures..
even if the sky is great for pictures, i don't think it saves the compo (or may be is it the optimization web..)
For somebody like you (which has made so many excellent pictures) i'm not satisfied..
sorry..
have a nice day

Dag, John.

groeten,
Luc.

Hello John
I like the setting & the contrasts...the clouds & the sky are good. But this is certainly not one of your better pictures..not compared to the superb ones you have shown us. This is my opinion though...& I sincerely hope that you don't mind. I would be proud of this picture though, had I taken it.
regards

Hello John
A nice overall landscape, with a good cloudy sky.
I miss here some interesting foreground.
Aha, a 5D, so you just have to upgrade the 55-200 ;o)

Congratulations on the 5D, John, an impressive hardware upgrade :) I think in general it is not bad for the first attempt, but I have two remarks which are quite independent from which camera you used:
(a) I think compositionally this is one of your weaker pieces - it is rather flat and the bunch of branches sticking in at the top does not help to get much depth either
(b) in situations like this with strong sunlight hitting an array of clouds, you might be interested to tame down the brightness and level the contrasts by using a graduated gray filter. I have often used such a filter in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, with some very satisfying results (here is an example).
Good luck and have fun learning and shooting with the 5D!

Hi John,
Precious landscape, with a perfect frame of the meadow down and the sky in both third rest of the image. The sky is impressive and very beautiful, with the clouds that dress it in elegance, and the branch to a side of the picture is a pretty detail.
Good exposure, good lighting, and great sharpness, 5D has worked wonderfully, and also the photographer, of course!

Josep

Dag John

nice shot of this park, I miss green grass, in Japan it is difficult to find such land apart from the golf green, well done

Hi John. If you hadn't included the tree in the upper-left it would have felt much less complete. A grad ND would be perfect in this situation or a polarizer might give nice results too. tfs John.

Dag John,
Ah ah do I see here a new camera ? Did you buy it already or do you have it just for testing ? I agree with others the compo is below your usual level, but the clouds patterns are nice. A point to mention is that the 5D will require top lenses to deliver its best photos. Also I notice you shot this one at f/20, which may produce diffraction that reduces the picture quality, in daylight I would not shoot beyond f/13, closer apertures are convenient for special situations like night shots.
Have a nice day, groeten,
Jean-Yves

Bonjour mon ami John,

Groet, Henk

Hi John,
very nice one... 5D is good full frame camera, it's one of the best, better than is onely mark II 1Ds, the old mark II is too with crop sensor, i think it's best choice from this money!!! but that 55-200 lens i don't know, maybe you most try canon EF 70-200 L f4 or f2,8?!

Friendly regards.

Hi John,
A good POV of this farm field and of the cloud formation, the photo is sharp and clear. It has a good DOF and nice colors. Thanks for sharing.
