Dit is een schitterende stads foto. Het water op de voorgrond met de weerspiegeling van de gebouwen brengt het oog van de kijker naar de prachtige kleuren van de gebouwen die hier echt schitterend uitkomen! Mooie compositie met prachtige details en mooie scherpte!

Beautiful shot Luc; the reflections are stunning. I like how the reflection of the bridge is super-imposed over those of the buildings. Did you do some PP in the sky; it looks like a selection around the rooftops.

C'est une prise de vue qui me donne envie de faire un tour dans cette ville. Merveilleusement mises en scènes, ces maisons bien éclairées se reflètant dans la rivière, et cet étroit passage qui n'attend que le promeneur, c'est superbe.
Un bon cadrage et une bonne définition.

Hi Luc,

Light is the word! It's fantastic here and makes the whole picture. Gent is really a fantastic place, but only in a good light, otherwise it's a bit grey. I've been there several times, so I know the city.

I like the reflection of the boat by the way! ;)

What a lovely picture. Colours are strong and vivid. Reflections are great too. The light is very well managed.
Only one remarks : it look like the picture is too sharp, specially looking at roofs.

However the "quality" of this photo is a bit strange, I love to see this one without cars and other disturbing city-details.
Together with the clear reflections a nice view on Gent, all in a sunny light, nice !

Hello again, Luc. I just found this in your gallery and I have to comment, because this is the same boat, I am sure, that is in my photo that I uploaded a few days ago! In mine the boat is a little further back behind the small wooden landing. I also used the idea of 'silence' in my title! We stayed all of January in Corduwanier Strat not far from this point, and visited the folk museum.
Anyway, back to the photo. I like very much the light from the low sun and the colours and reflection. A very atmospheric shot, well composed.

Very beautiful view to this canal in Gent. Excellent light coming from the left side made these houses simply glow. Nice format and very fine reflection in the water, too. No people around so the place really looks silent.

Sober architecture as a walking museum to get lost and stroll by those streets ...i lost Gent because had enough with Brugge . Missed some warmth coming from Belgium people (with the exception of the tourists hunters outside every pub , bar ...)
