Photographer’s Note
This contented-looking lady was observing us as calmly as you please, while we looked through this market in Ouidah, Benin - impassive even as I discretely took a picture of her wares...It took me over a year to realise that this photo as a depth worth sharing with others - though the variety of colourful and strange wares pull the eye, it is that face in the corner that pulls at you most, with a stoicism that facinates.

Hi Milena
I'm so happy to see new pictures of Benin!!
Your photo is great and reminds me of the wonderful atmosphere of the markets in Benin.
I went through Ouidah though I couldn't stay there long. I saw the Door by which the slaves were sent to America though.
I like your picture very much, and the note makes it even better. The compo and the woman's attitude arre great, but it's a shame the quality of the file you uploaded is so poor: we see the pixels which make it impossible to appreciate the details, particularly on the woman's face. Don't you have a better version of the picture?
Thank you very much for your photo all the same, it makes me want to go back to Africa and Benin particularly.
Hope to see you soon with other pictures of Africa.
Regards
Antho
