Just a simple sunset today...
But there's a story behind. In Finland slipping in winter conditions is prevented with gravel. Loads of it, especially in the cities. And under winter tyres part of it crumbles into dirt. And when the snow melts and streets dry, all the grime and dust is blown to air. This spring we had weeks without rain. And air quality was quite bad, at least to Nordic standards.
But it made some quite remarkable sunsets.

Shot from the 12th floor balcony.
Levels adjusted. No colour corrections.

Nice levels in the colors of the sky and the sun has a strangely beautiful color... Maybe for us living on 45 Paralel :)

Grate shot and good timing!

What an incredible result. The colours of the upper part of the sky and the grading are both stunning, and then you have the band of dust pollution. It's amazing how the dust has prevented any flare at all on the sun, giving a perfect sphere.

Seulement 4 points !!
Mahnifique couché du soleil...
Dommage le premier plan avec ces immeubles..
Et l'encadrement est pas super top...
Sinon du tout bon
Bravo
je t'ai fait un petit WS...

Such nice colours Kari. I know what you mean about the left overs from winter. Lots of gravel, cracked windshields, at least they are cleaning the streest now. TFS Janice

Hi Kari
I really don't know what to write on this photo.
I like the way you have captured this sunset and the note that sets the stage to enjoy this pretty scene from you POV. Impressive view from your balcony, I wish I had a view like this too.
There is nothing spectacular about the landscape, The colours in the sky are also pretty much average. But you do have a perfect condition of air particles in the sky. They are not too many to diminish the visibility of the sun and not so few that the sun comes out very strong ... they are just perfect.
BTW .... being a sunset and sunrise lover, I admire this photo a lot ... thanks for the share

PS: You can read here, if you want to know more about the airparticles and the colours in the sky.

This is a wonderfully simply and beautiful shot and perfectly composed.

Hi Kari.

Good shot of the polluted city.
Very nice balcony view.
