Gigantic ruins of Krzyztopor castle (the name stands for "a cross and an axe") are situated in a tiny village of Ujazd near Tarnobrzeg, Swietokrzyskie Province.

The castle was built in 1624-44 by the Swiss architect Wawrzyniec Senes, based on the idea of Krzysztof Ossolinski. When his father Zbigniew died, Krzysztof - apart from fortune - inherited the title of the governor of Sandomierz. He decided to use his fortune to built a great castle in Ujazd, to commemorate the family of Ossolinski. Krzysztof Ossolinski achieved his aim – in the XVII century Krzyztopor was known as one of the greatest Polish castles

Fantastyczne ujęcie, bardzo podobają mi się okna na tym zdjęciu, dodają mu przestrzeni i pokazują ogrom tej pustej wieży. Fajna praca! Andrzej
