Photographer’s Note
yesterday's post was a prelude to this shot.
the cheerleaders danced and moved in formation. they did a really good job despite the dusty ground and heat of the midday sun.
this shot is the same girl from yesterday's photo (in the front) while the other cheer leaders stood in formation behind her.
i sacrificed here right arm to capture the rest of the girls and the repetition of their arms and colour of their costumes.
as usual, i was working with a low fstop to keep the short dof.

David,
A nice shot i realy like the repetion but i would have preferred a bit more Dof so i could see the faces as i go down the line. As it is i find it difficult to connect with anyone other than the first cheerleader.
Cheers

A sacrifice well made if you ask me. You've got some great detail on the girls face and some very nice colours.
Not sure if you've noticed, but the way the bokeh has formed has caused the girl, second to back, to have a large black spot on her face...

Hi dave,
Wow this one is awesome, i love it. The composition in diagonal is the perfection, colors and DOF, everything is fantastic. Congratulations.

Hello. Actually I think this would have looked great if you didn't have such shallow DOF as all the girls look like they have very interesting expressions and poses and the simple colours are very striking. But still an interesting and eye catching shot as it is. Good composition.

Terrific composition and a really good shot overall. Personally, I would prefer a greater DOF, but this works well too. Kind of a strange color cast on my calibrated monitor. Very nice shot.

Perfect bokeh here David, I like the way the faces slowly turn completely out of focus as we go along. The white looks good also.

Hi David,
Interesting group of white birds. Are they trying to fly ? I like the bokeh progressively stronger and the fact that the cheerladers are all different. They aren't clones with all the same expression. The first one is excellent with her face turned in direction of the sky.

I'm almost afraid to repeat what it has been already said. The nice visual pattern blured in the background works very well to communicate to the viewer the climax of their act. The position and expressions, like Rafal pointed out is, indeed, very sensual. Excellent capture, my friend.
Cheers

hi David, I'm not going to add anything new to the comments written so far, no great techicality that i can come up with, so let me just say that this photo is one of those that inspire me at TE, and simply -thanks a lot for showing!:-)
best regards

Very good David,
the girl seems to be in trance, at least at this moment of capture and i like the repetition of the formation behind her.
Lovely contrast of colours and composition.
Also, I like that piece of thread coming out of her sleeve.

Excellent photo. Exposure, focus and composition all really nice. I don't think the missing right arm detracts at all. To me it makes composition more unusual, which, in my eyes at least, is a positive thing. On my monitor the yellow stripes look a bit neon-like.

Hi David,
they're like butterflies, it's really a beautiful picture with an excellent POV.
I like the colors and the short DOF.
Well done

Hey that’s cool. They all look so.. dedicated..and into it. Yah, I'd really stink at being a cheerleader. The way you've composed it really lets the viewers concentrate on the first girl but get a sense of the situation. Great job.

Hi David,
That's a really cool bokeh... beautiful colourful patterns. And that framing is good also. Good job. TFS.

Wow man, I like it.
1. Cool bokeh, progressively stronger on the girls in the back.
2. interesting poses.
3. quite sexy if you really think about it. The girl in the foreground has that sensual, open mouthed look.
4. I also like her positioning in the frame, nicely off center.
The 4th girl in line looks like she has a huge mouth though;)

David...TOP OF THE WORLD...Even if you consider that big mouth of the 'fourth' one (just giggling about jinju's remark).
Beauty of your picture David, immaculate technique and the beauty of the girls - no wonder some experienced experts called it TOP OF THE WORLD !

well, David, you seem like the specialist in cheerleading. Somebody had to do the job. Unfortunately...
I think your choces cannot be discussed : good perspective and framing, nice timing and I think she really was the one to put the focus on, the second one looks too cheesy smiling.

nice repetition and expressions here. they're obviously cheering hard. the front cheerleader has a thread hanging off her cuff that i want to cut off. but other than that, interesting pov and composition. well done
