Photographer’s Note

Oriental station, one of the most important train stations in Portual, locatuted in Lisbon, where 'expo98' was executed.

That area was completely designed in a modern way to be distinctive from the historic urban Lisbon. This station is built by a spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.

Very nice black and white shot. The compostion is good and I like how you have included a few people to give this photo more scale. I would like to see just a little bit more on the right side though. Check out this photo of the same station.

It may be a modern construction, but shot in black and white it is quite mesmerizing and gives much more of a feeling of times past.

Hi Mi, B&W works really well here, as it really highlights the great mix of straight lines and angles in the roof structure. Best of all, I love the angle of the train coming in, as it seems that this shot really draws my eyes all the way down the tunnel in the bottom right.

This is very fun geometry, Mi. The composition works with the train at the extreme far right. Nice work!

Bonjour Mi,

Belle photo en noir et blanc, j'aime l'architecture de la toiture et la perspective donnée par la voir ferrée avec le train à l'arrivée. C'est dommage que le bas de la photo soit si coupé, j'aurais davantage donné de place à la perspective.

Good contrast and composition. Every major line in the scene leads you down to the passengers. Great textures here. Black and white was the obvious choice here to keep the attention on the textures and contrast.

Hi Mi,
That's a v. beautiful shot! Great perspective with strong B&W graphicism. Very well taken. Maybe slightly better if you've got a wider angle to show more people, but this still work fine. Probably your best shot on TE. Good work :)
