Photographer’s Note
This Bridge at one time had 24 Arches but now only has nine, There has been a bridge here crossing the river Nene since about 1310. At one time it was a Toll bridge and the costs were as follows. Wagon 2d. Horse 3/4d. Sheep 4d per 20. Cattle 4d per 20. Soldiers and people going to church were given free passage.

Hi Trevor
It's an attractive bridge with the repeated arches and has double the impact in this shot due to the strong reflections. Would be nice to see all nine arches, or not to cut off part of the first arch at the left in your shot - but that may not have been possible as not sure what else is around out of shot, or whether the angle from which you had to photograph it didn't allow much flexibility.

Excellent colour and teh still waters have given some great reflections.
I remember this bridge before Thrapston was bypassed and the main A604 trunk road went through the town - it was hellish thanks to the bottle necks caused by the traffic lights on it!!
