Photographer’s Note
Biellese - postard n. 4
The Sanctuary of Oropa: near the ancient basilica, the cells for the pilgrims are connected from corridors and colonnades where is possible to walk and pray in a quiet atmosphere.
*******************************************************
According to the tradition, the Sanctuary of Oropa owes its origins to Sant'Eusebio, the first Bishop of Vercelli, who died between the years 371 and 374: he built here the first votive chapel where he placed the statue of the Madonna found in Jerusalem. The statue was probably sculpted by St. Luke.

Buongiorno Daniela,
Beautiful photo for a beautiful place. Sharpness and luminosity are good.
I like the Sister who is walking under the columns, that gives life to this very quiet place. I really love the harmony of the architecture of religious monuments.

Ciao Daniela,
I like the way you composed this photo, with the beautifil light in the foreground and the woman at the top of the stairs. The architecture is very lovely, and you have captured the solemn mood of this location very well.

Very fun and effective composition with the lamp and the nun juxtaposed so well. I like the two objects' sharp focus, too, which invites interesting thoughts of how the two compare and parallel each other.

Hallo Daniela!
A wonderful calm and unspectacular picture which makes contemplative about the so called values of our civilisation!
Thank you for showing it!
Greetings from Germany!
