Photographer’s Note
India is a land of people. India is rich because of its people. India is poor becaus of its people. India is incredible, India is polluted, all because of its people. Whether it's Aishwarya Rai, a beauty queen, or a lady on the streets, India is what it is today, because of its people.
I caught this woman in the Surajkund mela. She was alone, and appeared lost. Her sari contrasted with the earth colors so well that I took a shot of her. Later when I got home I realized she's missing one slipper. Maybe that's why she was lost.
Sometimes, there isn't much you can do to help. Hopefully she found her slipper and is living happily.
