[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
During our visit to the city of Dàli in the south-western part of China, we made a tour around lake Êrhâi Hú, the 7th greatest sweet water lake in the country.
This shot was taken in one of the many villages we passed by that day. Daily life, like doing the laundry in this picture is very different from what we're used to in Western Europe. That's why I was impressed with this scene.
I usually don't like to take pictures of people, as it gives me a sense of inappropriate intrusion (especially when there's a cultural and language barrier as in China). That's why I shot this picture from some distance across the road, not to disturb the person with my tourist behaviour...
I think the shot worked out well in the end. Hope you like it too.

Great composition of colors, lines, circles... beautiful.
Everything is very sharp well defined. Bravo.
Why problems to shoot at people? First become a friend, then... shoot! They are so friendly, enjoy to meet them. I did so and I am happy to have visited China this way ;-))

Hi Marc,
Nice shot here but I find the frame cluttered in a few ways. The colours don't add anything to this shot, I don't think. The window doesn't seem to add any interest either. In light of this I had a go at a workshop to "correct" these things. All of the elements are already here in your shot, I just think they can be brought out in a more striking way. I hope you'll like the changes I've made.
Thanks, Lewis.
