Photographer’s Note
Along Frank Sinatra Blvd I saw the moon, the reflections, and tried to capture it. It came our a little blurry. I held the camera on a steel rail . How could I have improved this shot without the use of a tripod?

Bienvenue sur TE.
Jolie scène nocturne dommage que l'image penche un peu sur la droite.
Mais pour une prise de vue sans tripod c'est très bien.

Wonderful night shot of the big apple. The moon has those perfect veils of thin clouds and I love the red tips of the skyscrapers.
I think this picture is close to as sharp as you can hope for with a compact lense during these conditions.

Sarastri is absolutely right : you can't touch your camera when you have a long exposure.
Night scene is surely a great subject. I would recommand you to try to have a framing which includes more enlighten building either by zooming or by cropping the original picture (closer from what you did with the day shot).
When trying this, I would also recommand you to try different settings. Keep the 100 ISO, try different aperture and few exposure like 1 second, 2 seconds and 4 seconds...

For a handheld shot this is "sweet". I mean, I love the shot but knowing that you did it without a tripod makes it extra nice. As for your question: I have a friend with a expensive camera with a stabilizer.
Good Job!
