Photographer’s Note
Hello again to all TE members. As promised, I'm back with another shots from one of the oldest hotels in Malaysia, the Majestic Station Hotel, in Ipoh Perak.
Introduction:
This is the interior of the hotel, facing to the main road. Built with some distintive architectural design, this hotel provided a nostalgia feeling. The feeling of the "colonialisation".
I’ve posted another shot which was taken from the other angle, to share with members.
Merchanics:
Exposure Program – manual
Speed Value – 1/4s
Aperture Value – f/18.0
Focal Length – 18mm
So, folks, enjoy this cool station and I will be posting a series of MACRO images of the wildlife.
Cheers to all and good day.

Hi Eric
I like the strong compositional diagonal, & repetition of the chairs, in this old colonial style scene. Wonderful sharpness & lighting. Tfs!

Hi Eric, A nice shot of the perspective view. This place looks like a luxury place in modern measurement even if it is an old hotel. Good capture of the setting, the repetitive settings. Good use of lights.

Hello Eric,
Nice composition and perfect exposure, your f/18 gives a very nice "star" effect to the lights.
Well done !

Selamat Petang Eric,
I find this an inviting perspective to sit there and have a cocktail (or two) enjoying the fresher evening hours, it was a good choice to close much to reduce the pollution effect of this strong light, it's still there but I find this perspective much better than the one in the WS.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Interesting interior shot. You must be studing this area before getting it into a picture.
The color, well, looked so refresh and the street lights appearing here adds the cool feeling.

Hi Eric,
Beautiful double here. Great to see the very different atmosphere of both picture. The mysterious one with the view outside and the strong blue light and the interior view with a quit atmosphere. Well done.

Wonderful shot Eric!!
Ótima perspectiva nesta criativa e forte composição, criando uma boa sensação de profundidade. Ótimo esse motivo, principalmente apresentado dessa maneira, e ainda com lindas, texturas cores e contrastes. Ótimo trabalho.
Greetings.

Eric,
I do not know...This is kind of a deja vu for me...
When I was a kid, I used to visit one of my grand-father, who was a Judge in Indian Judiciary. As with any of the senior Beaurocrats ( bapoos- as they are referred popularly in India), he used to be housed in a huge colonial mansions with a lots & lots of rooms to explore and play hide and seek & quite a number of servents with a lot of respect & reverance. Though not so well maintained as in your case, it used to be a all joy thing for me when we used to go there for our vacations.
This is just bringing the past life right in front of my eyes, as would a book by R.K.narayan or Ruskin Bond does!.
Thanks my friend!.
Prem.

Hi Eric,
You masterd very well night shots! I like the atmosphere on this one. The colonial feeling from the architecture and furniture. This place seems to have a lot in commom with the Raffles in Singapore. Going to these hotels is quite a travel back in time and you captured it very well on this shot. I like the fact that the place is empty, for me it adds to this feeling of "lost in time". Only thing that I feel disrupts a little this atmosphere is the blue light coming from outside. The POV and depht is great. I checked the WS and I also prefer this one.
Cheers,
Flavia

Clean, well defined and perspective worked. I enyed very much especially the definition Pak Eric. The F/18 in 4 seconds gave that much enough definitive detail and there's no visible or unacceptable grains in the shadows. I believed you really worked at this subject Eric and coming out with an impressive result.

Hi Eric,
It's nice to be back again and this place looks relaxing enough for winding down. The star burst did add a bit of glamour to the place and I like how you positioned the perspective. The right amount of space is left before the energy is dissipated. Well done!! Have a nice day

Hello Eric,
A beautiful place, and so is the story behind!
Awesome lines giving fine perspective to your composition, the three sitting groups is a pleasing repetition effect!
Good colours and details, lighting well managed!

Hi Eric,
You have produce a lovely mood with good natural ambience. Good POV too with lead-in lines from the settings and wall. By looking at this picture it make me really miss Malaysia, particularly Penang. I think it must be the floor design ;)

Hi Eric - repetition and emptiness, presented finely with good lighting and wide angle perspective, the floor patterns also add to the appeal, well done.

Hello Eric,
Strong composition specially strenghtened by the squares on the ground and the square tables.
All the lines are converging at the same point.
This is a good work.

Good atmospheric capture. The openness of the space in the night air reminds me of the Far East where you can feel the heat and look around for the little lizards running around the walls.

Another fine shot of this place. Well, I'm glad I didn't pick this angle for my post of this verandah. Great handling of light here. What a great place to stay, I think I'll go back in August.

Hi Eric, nice capture of this old hotel. The lighting of this photo is just right and well captured. Street light on the right gave some sparkle for the night sky.

This is the second time in a few days that i have seen this station hotel. Richard Gatward has the almost same photo.
The composition is fine, the repetition of the inviting armchairs well seen, it makes me wantt o sit an drink a cocktail, but the blue light I would and do find annoying.
