This is a costal town in central Wales. It was a long weekend and we had just ventured into Wales without a plan. We were a bit dissapointed with the weather on this day and the coastline around this place also seemed very bleak with black gravel shore sand instead of beaches and very few people. Luckily the weather improved later in the day and we found some good beach in Barmouth, not far from here.
This is my first attempt at black and white so please be as critical as you can be. I took this picture in colored mode but due to the subject and weather it came out very close to gray scale so I decided to convert it to B&W, I think it conveys the mood better. |

Hello Arindam,
Not often to see a beach photograph in B&W but I see your reason for doing this..!
Some good qualities, like the bad weather mood and I also like the curved shoreline...
Made a workshop to enhance qualities and also correct a couple of flaws... have a look!
Greetings,

Dear Arindam,
I like the composition. May be the horizon is a bit tilted, but your composition is good. Yes, you are absolutely right that the weather has an effect on your pic and making it b/w is a good thing to do. It captures the gloomy mood very well. I would have liked to crop the lower part a little bit and give it a pano look.
Regards,
Sayan

hello Arindam. i like the composition with a plenty of space for eye to explore. good choise of B&W indeed. congratulations & greetings.
Hi Arindam,
this is a great picture.. i can almost see the waves.. far right :)
Cheers!
Arindam, if this is indeed your first B&W photo, it is very well seen and well done. You have used the perspective of the bay perfectly and the people add that essential human element. There is a slight tilt which has been corrected in the workshop. The workshop is good but it needed a strong original in order to succeed. Stephen
