Photographers Note
Photographing a thunder depends on luck, patience and long shutter speed if not on anything else. The storm cloud started gathering from the afternoon but the lightning started after the dask. I waited for the sky to darken sufficiently then attempted the shoot. The thunders were occuring at a particular area in the sky ... I tried to get a dark back ground but the lights at the distant could not be avoided.
I set up the camera on a tripod, in wide zoom and composed the likely area in the sky where the thunder may appear. Set up the camera in shutter priority with 8 sec shutter speed with auto 1/3 exposure bracketing. Then put the camera in self timer so that my pressing of the shutter release does not effect the shot. Then I took about 30 shots. Got lucky in few of the shots and displaying the one I like most. Contrast/ brightness adjusted in Picassa, noise reduced in Neat Image 5 and resized in MS Powertoys. Let me know wht u think.

Hi Selim
Simply awesome shot.
The thunder looked alive and the slow shutter spped produced the sparkling effect that added the dramas.
And you are lucky to capture two lighting bolts in one shot.
Well done, Selim.
