Photographer’s Note
i was focused on her gorgeous face, strangely enough i didnt see (or realize) her situation..
thankfully her mother wanted me to take their picture..
i had a bit conflict in me to upload this. but this is another fact unfortunately..
According to WHO and UNICEF, even though there are massive campaigns, polio still remains a serious threat in India..
For more information:
PS. after Bertrand's point, i should note that this kid has the "massive rachitism".. Thanks a lot Bertrand! :)

I know this conflict, show, not show?
If Te is only for aseptised photos not for me.
But,we cannot show all the reality without taking care.
There is so much emotion here in front of the camera and behind it...
It would be so easy to prevent this!

Beautiful composition, Evren, every emlement falls naturally into lace, and that only happens when someone knows exactly what they are doing... The beauty is what one notices first (just like you) then, the other thing.
Colors a bit on the wild ...must be the Nikon?......
Excellent work,
Francis

hi evren, merhaba,
this is such an important image; i can understand your dilema, but on the other hand you found a great balance which resulted in a touching image but not the one that i would object,
life is as we can see,
hats off for this serious yet beautiful image;
best wishes, jerzy

Hi Evren
thanks a lot to share with us this picture. It's very interesting for me. As you know, i work for a medical NGO. We have a program in Bangladesh for children with the same disease. It's not due to polio but it is a massive rachitism, and for us it was present only in Bangladesh where the first cases were descripted. As you show us, some children get the same disease in North India.
You can get more information here (but in French)

Evren,
Very different from yesterdays post which i adored so much i took the liberty of doing a workshop. A very touching double potrait. In a difficult situation you came out with a fantastic image very powerful but also full of hope and life.
Cheers

I believe you Evren. I can be like that. I see the beauty of someone and only later do I realize that the person has a disability. This girl is beautiful. And it has also taken me some time to see her legs. A nice shot, though a bit oof, for some reason. But the energy is conveyed.

Allow me not to critisize the technical part of the photo. You did very well Evren to upload this photo, a powerful "documentary" photo, which can sensitize the world. Photography is not just a form of art, it can be a "tool",or an alarm clock for human conscience. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Evren,
Yes, though the situation has improved but still it's there in some isolate places. Technically great picture and very documentary type of picture, but I really feel sorry about her.
