There's no question that Hios has the best beaches in the Northeastern Aegean. They're cleaner, less crowded, and more plentiful than those of Samos or Lesvos, and would be the envy of any Cycladic isle.This photo was taken on the south coast, Vroulidia, a 5km drive from the Emborio road. This white-pebble-and-sand beach in a rocky cove offers great views of the craggy coastline.
I was in Hios during my military service for 8 months. Luckily I was an officer, so i was able to visit the various sites, adn enjoy the landscape hios has to offer. This beach was excellent, for spear fishing and just relaxing. There were 2 problems however. 1st, it was easy to get down to the beach but to get back to the road, after hours of swimming was hard. heheheheh. Secondly, and teh serious one, is the high speed boat that goes from athens to Hios would pass at a fast speed, and would mix the sea, hence seaweed, pollution, and waves reach the beach twice a day. Speed limits have been placed on these boats, but the problem continues on the entire south and south east coast.....

Αν και το σκανάρισμα ρίχνει λίγο την ποιότητα της φωτογραφίας, δεν μπορεί να κρύψει το μεγαλείο της. Πολύ ωραία σύνθεση, πανέμορφα χρώματα στα νερά. Ίσως επισκεφθώ τη Χίο σε ένα μήνα. Όταν έρθει ο καιρός θα ζητήσω τις προτάσεις σου. Συγχαρητήρια για τη φωτογραφία!

Γιάννη με συγκινησες!Και γω Χιο ήμουν,96 Τυπέθ-Αρμόλια,θυμάμαι Εμποριό αλλά αυτήν της φωτό σου όχι,μάλλον δεν πήγα ποτέ.Παρεπιπτώντος το σκανάρισμα δεν πέτυχε ιδιαίτερα αλλά χαλαλι!
