Photographer’s Note

I just came home from a wonderful easter vacation with my family. We went to their summer house on a Danish island called Samsø. It is a very small island with only about 4000 inhabitants, however in the summer it's probably double that with all the tourists. I took quite a few pictures of clouds. I have a thing about clouds, and this time of year the sky is very dramatic.
This particular shot was taken by the beach, but quite far back, I had my back to the forrest where my parents little cottage is.

PP I boosted the contrast quite alot, and played with levels to make the dramatic sky even prettier.

Hi Line. Pretty good post-work to dramatize the setting with the overcast sky that you had for your Easter trip. The low-placed horizon is a good choice with the few included elements of vegetation that make the scenery look like anything but a textbook image of Denmark which makes me like it quite a bit. Very dramatic scene of nature. I think of the climax.
The land had turned gloden by the sun rays falling through the cloud.
The sky and the earth in a climax. Well caught.

Hi Line,
I think that this very dramatic end result justifies your PP, since it's not so easy to "transfer" the feeling of being under such threatening skies to the monitors of TE members...and you did it very well!

Very menacing sky here Line. Excellent saturated colours and depth in this picture. I like the way the dried soil contrast with the dark sky.

Hey cloudchaser! I can imagine that you went for a dramatic sort of postprocessing, sthe sky is really begging for it. This is pure drama, Line, and theand the dark bushes and the dark ground render a scary feelling, you want to hide as soon as possible. I'm not exactly sure anymore what Hamlet did in Dnemark, but his name posp up in my mind.
That bit of blue is very nice.

Det er virkelig en meget smuk himmel, du fandt på Samsø. De mørke skyer ser fantastisk ud, men jeg kan også godt lide det lille lyseblå streg i midten der. Rigtig smukt landskab. Tak for synet!

your image is striking with this dramatic sky...i still thing it would work with less post processing but nevertheless you're sharing an unique moment with us...some people use filters some software to get similar results...cheers, arturo
