Photographer’s Note

Frankendaal is the last of the so called 'buitenplaatsen'left in Amsterdam. These were landhouses owned by the nobless of the 17th century. This one is built in the late 17th century in the polder 'The watergraafsmeer' wich was a few kilomters east of the city of Amsterdam in that time. Now and it's hard to imagine if you see this picture, if you turn around at this POV you see the traffic running by and the shops and houses on the other side of the street.
Behind the house there is a public park and it is an oasis in the city.
I'll show another one in the WS where you can see the statue in front and the beautiful symmetry.
