Photographer’s Note

A view of the Rock Filfla as seen from the cliff-tops of Mtahleb. For many years, this rock was unfortunately used as target practice by the RAF and the Royal Navy, with little or no regard for the flora and fauna the thrive on it. Maltese shooters also did their share of damage by shooting down sea birds on or around the rock. Today it is a protected area as it is the site of a unique species of lizard that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
