| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Ghara Kelisa, or black church, or St-thaddeus Church, is an armenian church located in the province of West Azerbaijan in Iran. A 10th century church, rebuilt in the 17th, in the middle of nowhere, at the edge of a kurdish village, not far from the turkish border and the mount Ararat. Once a year (19th of june), there is a service here, on the day of St Thaddeus. The iranian armenian community joins in a big pilgrimage for this occasion. But most of the time, it is absolutely empty and lost in the remote hills of western Iran. |

I like the composition of this photo. I think it does well to portray the landscape and siting. It lacks a bit of clarity but the composition and format make up for it. Nice
wow, I really like your shot, a beautiful capture of an old historic architecture :) I like that compo alot,

As you say, Emmanuel, not many non-Armenian people will ever see this. Thanks for this lovely picture of St. Thaddeus, well done. I am glad that you explained the details in the note well.
Cheers, Dietrich
Excellent photo of this armenian church in the barren hills. Sharp and with an excellent accompanying note.
Congratulations, John
