Photographer’s Note
The photo was taken a while after this shot where all the bread was eaten. It seams that the see gulls and mallards prefer to take a nap afterwards – properly to save energy and gain some heat from the warming sun.
If someone could tell me about the white duck would I be glad – is it “just” a mallard or a special species of duck.
Second note! It seams my camera do have problems with dark feathers and white snow. In order to get a brighter image in the darker area the gamma level changed to 1.3

Nice shot Jeppe, the big flok of birds gathering in the winter for food (noble gesture). Remembers me of the crowdy days at the beach in the Netherlands, very different, but several similar points!

A wonderful and engaging addition to your series, Jeppe. A very busy, yet at the same time cozy and relaxed scene - the busy part added by the incoming/outgoing gulls, the quiet and dignity by the mallards. The white duck in the front left is indeed a first-rate attention drawer; I never saw one like that before. Well captured.

Avec tout ce mouvement pas un seul flou et sans parlé de la qualité de l'image elle est superbe.
Les colverts donnent énormément de couleurs à votre image et la profondeur de champ est bonne bravo Jeppe

Jeppe, a "rest" is hardly the case. There is so much going on in this photo that the eyes don't get any rest at all. Each bird is upto something different in a different direction. I tried to play around with cropping it, but there is nothing that can be left out - and still it is overwhelmingly confusing and chaotic. Just the way nature is, I guess.

Nice picture Jeppe and what a social behaviour. I think they share their warmth. The white duck properly is a mallard. I have seen them in this colour before – though not total white like yours.

Another great capture, Jeppe. The colours are excellent, as is the soft sunlight on the snow. I especially like the bird, near the back, that appears to be looking straight at you. The 'V' shape wings on the left are in a classic position. Well seen.

What a nice crowd to take a picture of. Good colors and their different movements add a sense of dynamism. Good shot!

It is the time of the digestion now! Supernatural, nobody smokes ( LOL) but some make the siesta. Colours are magnificent with the heads of mallards. Everything is net, it is very well made. One pitied not concerning you however: ah! If there had been no this tree...

What a crowd. Very nice captured.
As to your question. The white Duck is probaly a Mallard as well. There was a white Mallard living in the parc near my parents as well so i have seen it before. The sad thing though, is that this beauty will probably not find her or him self a mate. In fact, it is lucky to still be alive. As you can see, it is also lying all by it self. It is common that they become "out casts" and don't get to share the bennefits of the "community". It is lucky to be living in an urban.

A great chaos with the lot of ducks and gulls assembled. Maybe the old trick staying close together gives mutal warmth. The white variant stands out, don't think we have them up here at all.
