Photographer’s Note
After picking up my new lens (Sigma 170-500mm), I wanted to test it out- and figured no place better then the Singapore Zoo.
Just inside the front gates of the park is a meet and great area with some of the inhabitants of the zoo. This day they had the majestic Macaws out for a photo opportunity.
I am kicking myself in the butt though because there was a better photo opportunity which I missed; a blue parrot of sorts was stalking the caretaker walking around the caretakers feet wherever he went, pecking at his feet and ankles and giving side glances up at him. Really was quite amusing to see, but too many other people legs around for me to get a clear shot.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you like the photo...

Very cute catch. Good bright colours and ...love how all of them are huddled up together. Nice work.

Hello Dan
Seeing that you use the short end of your zoom(in your note,is it a zoo...m),I noticed the overall clarity of the picture and abence of distortion,as often seen at both end of a long zoom,so a good lens, are you sastified?
Nice group photo, showing different expression among the colorful birds.
The colors are natural looking.
Have a good day

Hi Dan, Good composition of some feather friends. Their colours are good but they look a little lean in the photo, no wonder the blue one is chasing the keeper asking for more seed to be provided. I love these bird photos.

Hi Dan. They sure lined up for you in a cooperative fashion. In fact I think a couple of them are giving you the eye! The reds look very accurate to me. It might have been fun to zoom way in with that big zoom to see what it could do. tfs Dan.

Such beautiful birds! At the portland zoo they said something about the long lifespan of these birds, so if you get one for a pet, expect at least a 60 year commitment.
I love the long line of them all in a row, the green background really sets them off! Excellent work.

Great stuff Dan. I love the colours and your composition. I've been considering the Sigma 170-500mm for a little while as it is such a good price and judging by your last couple of posts the quality is not too shabby either.
Nice work, the aberation and sharpness are great.

Hi Dan,
Don't kick yourself... this is so good. Never regret anything...the other photo might not have come out quite so well.

Hi Dan,
A clear crisp shot of these funny characters. I don't know how far away you were when you shot this, but there is superb clarity and definition. I like the way the branch angles into the frame. Exotic and alluring. Well captured, Dan.

Wow Dan I can see excellent results from your Sigma 170-500. This is super sharp showing excellent color. Birds of a feather thick together...nicely done Dan!

hey dan
you should add humor to the categories for this one. it's a great shot and it made me smile. it's a nice clean capture.
perhaps, being nitpicky, you could have got this in vertical ... to include their tails. but that may have been impossible.
either way, well spotted!
