Lapas. Fresh barnacles steamed or grilled with butter, garlic and lemon squeezed over the top arrives sizzling at your sea side table in Vila Franca do Campo. This is one of my favorite things to order in the Açores!

I love them too, however the correct spelling is Lapas in Portuguese
