Photographer’s Note
We were the only visitors to the 14th century Agios Nikolaos monastery (St Nicholas), which sits high in the remote Pindus mountains of north western Greece at Metsovo. We were greeted by a gentle, hospitable woman who spread a woven mat over a rough-hewn wooden bench and asked us to sit for Greek coffee before she showed us around the monastery. In her hand you see the keys of the beautiful old chapel, where we admired the superb 17th century frescoes.

Oh wow, those look like some very OLD keys! Great composition, Jennifer! So minimalistic, yet telling so much! I could guess she is a key keeper of some old castle or a monastry even without reading the note...
GREAT JOB!
Saule.

Interesting crop and compo, Jennifer. Just showing the woman's hand holding the keys, nothing further required to tell the story here. The simple color setting and pleasant tones of the cloth help to focus attention to the keys. It seems you used flash and it came out surprisingly good. Greetings from Kyoto.

Hello Jenny, this is such an interesting capture! With your title you also pay respect, this is a woman who can deal with responsibilities. The big steel keys stand out so well against the red of her habit, and as a lover of hands, I like the photo already just because of that, her finger ornamented with a beautiful ring.
I'm trying to decide whether I would have cropped the blue out at the top, but I really can't decide.
I hope you are well, Jenny

Hi Jennifer
Excellent composition with these keys which stand out so well against the skirt. Their position is very graphic. I like how her ring is the same colour as the skirt and the how the blue cuts with the red.

Hi Jenny,
I'm late to your compo and I find I agree with your excellent critiques above, Nikki especially has described your excellent compo well, "Excellent composition with these keys which stand out so well against the skirt. Their position is very graphic. I like how her ring is the same colour as the skirt and the how the blue cuts with the red."

Hello Jennifer
Nice closeup, I like the way you dramatize the hands and the keys, seems like a scane out of the middle ages

Well made detail Jennifer. Simple and effective - and a good thing we all don't have to go around with that king size keys all the time..

What a good close up shot this is, Jennifer. Good contrast with that background, and nice detail in the keys.
Yours,
Andrew.
PS: You'd need a big pocket...
