I found this little bit of graphism on St Peter's Square. These columns were standing tall in the soft, friendly evening light. I love the different colors.
For two days Miguel Parra and I roamed Rome together, after that I had two more days. Sometimes I think I have been Italian in a previous life. I loved being there, the food, the wine, the melodious language. Besides, weather was great, 20 degrees, back home here it was only 8 or 9, so cold!

I´m not italian but I´m mediterranean and I do agree with you: You were Italian in a previous life. So do I. I love the simplicity but at the same time the power of this photo. The fact of the detail to imagine the all ensemble. After all, photography it´s a question of light and how to handle it, and you did it very well dear. Take care.
PD: I revisited the photo and I take a deep look to the textures of the stone. Amazing.

This is a really "simple", yet very captivating motiv.
The way the columns are of a varying shade and the way that you have captured them on camera makes for a very hard but still gentle picture.
I especially like the right most part of the photo, the way all the columns overlap to create the "step by step" feeling of colour.
Great photo.

Rinie, don't even know where to start... such a great photo. First I love the different tones of the stone, love how the light changes colors, love the little itty-bit of modern rome showing through the columns, love the texture... did I mention that I have added it to my list of favotires??

Ciao, Artista Rinie,
So gorgeous, this shot... so simple and subtle and beautiful. Love the beautiful colours, the little "window" to the window beyond... Rinie I so love Roma too... when I got to Italy I felt I was walking on sacred ground... everything moved me, from the first Roman pine tree through the language and the beauty to the way people live there. Indeed, Eternal City...
Hugs,
sasa

Nice shot Rinie;

I like the repeating colors, compimented by the variety of patterns in the stone columns. I do however find the building visible between pilar 2 and 3 a bit distracting... but thats a small point on an otherwise nice shot.

Cheers,
- Dan

i really like your work here...artistic in comp/colors captured...i just don't like the sliver of the brown bldg showing inbetween the two columns. otherwise this is real nice!

that´s a great photo , i liked the way you managed it .

Rinie,
A great graphic shot. I love the veritcals and the soft light on the wonderfully textured columns. I agree with Rafal that slice of the building is what really makes this for me.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Rinie, Indeed a wonderful shot, the soft colours of the pillars and the various patterns of the marble. I am sure the weather and wine inspired your photos. Awaitign to see more.

Nice shot, I like it how all the pillars have a different shade of colour. A slight shame that you can see a building in one of the gaps, but it doesnt take away too much from the shot.

Hi Rinnie,
Your picture is so soft, simple and a artwork of another artwork that in my eye catch vision seems like paper rolls assembled together in a vertical position and all together brother linked with so nice atmosphere and ambience colors. Very well seen, captured and what a nice composition. My best regards and congratulations. Good notes and my best Regards.

All the best to you and see you at Rotterdam.

Beautiful artowrk Rinie,

the soft liht and warm colors, the repetition of lines. I like how the columns open up a bit and alow us a peak through on the windows of the Vatican (Pope's residence?).

a very interesting and clever shot Rinie! i like the repetition of colors on the columns coming up in packs of 4... I do love this city too. I visit it quite often, as I have the chance to have my best friend living there;-) great capture!
Eric

Hi Rinie
interesting shot here, the alignment of the columns and a great pov and colors

regards
manuel

A quite delicate and well-seen detail, Rinie. The array of columns, all shining in different colors and boasting slightly varying textures makes a satisfying graphical image, and I also like the few millimeters of window details peeking through at the left. Greetings from Kyoto.

That is funny how our pictures are composed quite alike today and yet very different. I prefer yours, the columns are lovely, but the light is even lovelier ;o) At first I found the peek of the building in the back disturbing, but now on second thought i like the colours it brings and the bit of scale and context.

Hi Rinie,
very good use of light and pills to make a graphical shot.
Simple but very effective.
Well done

Hello Rinie,
Nice textures, details and tones on this picture, well done.
Regards,
Didier

Great graphism Rinie, due to the angle, the cropping and the great light is has become very nicely abstract. The differende in marble textures and hues is very interesting too. Looking forward to the next posts from Rome!
Have a nice weekend,
Bert

Beautiful coloured columns are majestic and very colourful. I love the textures showing in the marble which has been standing there for so many years. I am going to be in Rome on a tour for 2 days in May, and will be visiting St.Peter's Square, and I will look out for these columns to see them in real life
I love the lighting in this composition and the graphism. TFS

Hi, Rinie! What an original pic! It's hard to believe it's Saint Peter's Square! The graphical effect is great and so the colours! Congratulations! Miguel.

Hi Rinie,
This looks like a shop where you can buy columns in all sizes and colours. The façade between two colours is a strange element of reality in this almost surrealistic scene.
Groet Rob

Great pic of this magnificient structure. I like the repetition of the 4 different colors and the repetition of the light effects. Very well seen ;)

Beijo

Oh back form a trip again. Nicely seen graphic image, the sharpness capturing the texture is also valuable here.

simple yet beautiful, love it.
best wishes.

hi rinie, this is extremely cool :-))
with only one problem with some details emerging from among the pillars, it is a great work,
rome is such a gorgeousplace!
best, j.

Hi Rinie,
Very nice picture !! These colums are so impressive with this gentle light on it !
Very well seen !
Christophe

Amazing pattern captured here, Rinie! I love the effect of the vertical columns. The light is very nice here, too as your title indicates. I also like the small bits of very bright higlights.

Hi Rinie!
Fantastic and interesting composition, very good idea and impression. Thank you for sharing.
