Photographer’s Note
Another from my NYC visit.
I got this obivously when I was on Liberty Island. I was very luck again with great broken cloud with brilliant blue skies. Wandering around the Island I saw this shot and thought it would be a bit different to the usual ones that include the brick structure underneath the statue. I think think it gives a great presence to the statue and make it seems even bigger than it is!
Continuing a current trend I have converted to B&W and used a slight warming filter to remove the coldness of a generall B&W conversion.
Thoughts, comments, suggestions?
Chris

Very nice, Chris! The idea of the square is perfect as well as B/W selection.
The particular sky makes this picture unique, and seems like no one has never taken one like this.
Congratulatios!

contrasting expressions. I feel the picture is little gloomy compared to the existence of the statue. Good one.

great tones and comp. i like that you chose to keep the statue off center rather than centering it. i also like that you shot it in landscape considering that almost every pic of this you see is portrait. congrats on original thinking.

Hi Chris,
great shot. Excellent composition and very dark, brooding mood.
I wonder though, why you title your photos "Chris Hooley Photography". Have you had images stolen? Also I don't believe an image is legally protected by copyright just because you put the (C) on it. You need to register it with the appropriate authorities and pay the relevant fees. At least in the US.
Cheers,
James.

Hi Chris, I like a lot the B&W and the framing of this picture. The clouds make it special!
