Photographer’s Note
Full potrait in the Workshop ... !!
Nihangs belong to a martial tradition begun by the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh. Their way of life, style of dress, and weaponry has remained little changed since the Guru's lifetime, three hundred years ago. Nihangs are a semi-nomadic people. They are organized into "armies" and live in camps known as "cantonments". Men and women both train in horsemanship, swordsmanship, and in the Punjabi martial art known as gatka. During times of persecution in the past, the Nihangs defended Sikh shrines and the Sikh way of life and become known for their bravery against all odds. In times of peace they travel to festivals and fairs throughout India, staging displays of horsemanship and martial skills. The annual Hola Mohalla fair held in Anandpur Sahib on the festival of Vaisakhi is especially notable for the Nihangs' colourful displays of pageantry.

The face of this man deserves more than you just showed to us, Devjit. The features are so extraordinary and unique, that I blame a frame for covering up some parts of it.
Do you have some other shots of this man. With more of a face, less of a surrounding background. This could be the portrait of the year. Please, help yourself with this great, great great chance.
Hit us Devjit, hit us very hard with it.
Allow me to include this photo in my favorites.
Regards and salutations

Hello Devjit,
The crop is tooooo tight for me. A vertical framing could be a good choice here. Losing the top does not bother me...But I need the bottom part for sure. But I love the details....and the focus.
PS: Paai-e chhobi gallery ki bhabe dekhe…I can only see the forum :(

Truely a great shot. I do want to see more of his chin - but I think if you prefer leaving it as it is I would pull the sides in too.. so he almost completely fills the whole image.

Don't know if you're gone gain by a bigger frame .... the impact of the eyes on the viewer is strong, fixating, they pull all the attention, light blue in a warm dark skin contrasting the deep blue cloth.
I like it as it is, maybe my preference for eyes.

These are the same as 'seik warriors', right? Its amazing how they havent changed much in 300 hundred years - keeping the same regalia, weapons and principles.
Very nice close up - i like the tight crop. He's also a little off centre which is good.
Cheers,
dave
