Photographer’s Note

This is my very first post on Trek Earth so I hope you like it.

This was taken at Grasmere in Cumbria on a very grey day and I did not think anything I had taken would be worth saving. However the colours here were so natural and varied and it shows how beautiful the Lake District can be even on a dull day.

dear great picture but if you had shown some more reflection then it would have been marvelous while composing a picture keep principle of nine in mind

Great color. I also think that the reflection is good. What program do you use on your frames?

Hi Eddie,

Welcome to TE. Very nice photo and first posting.

Personally I don't like frames very much, including this one. Generally they distract from the picture visually and in pixel usage, (but I think many here on TE disagree.)

Hi Eddie, nice photo. I love the Lake District (originally from Manchester) and have walked almost all of the fells. Grasmere is one of my favourite places - in the shadow of the Langdales. Pity about the light as even a solitary beam of sunlight would really bring the scene to life. Look forward to seeing more posts. Best wishes, Paul.

Very nice use of muted colors. The Lake District in general and Grasmere in particular really are unique, and your picture captures their beauty.

Hi Eddie - belated welcome to TE, very eye catching for a photo taken under unfavourable light conditions, looks a bit too bright on my monitor, I can imagine thois would be quite a stunning sight in autumn.
