Photographer’s Note
Hi all,
I've just been to NYC for a week and got this shot from the top of the empire state building. I was lucky to have great light on the day I went up and a visiblity of 23 miles (according to the signs they had up). The sky was also nice and detailed with lots of broken blue sky which the circular polariser on the end of my lens worked wonders with.
I've done a B&W conversion with a slight warming filter on it.
Let me know what you think.
Chris

Lovely shot Chirs, i like the frameing very much - it complements the shot very well. I like the dark sky it works well with the high contrast buildings!

bravo chris,
superb shot! :-)
very good use of b&w,
creates a wonderful atmosphere
and makes the buildings melt into
one great town-desert.
very well done, thor.

Absolutely love this picture, far and away your best to date. You've balanced the amount of sky and land very nicely (I still think that you have a tendency to include too much sky in some of your shots... but here it's perfect).
Definitely the sort of thing you should be trying to sell to the poster companies IMHO!
