Photographer’s Note
Everyone who goes to Sydney, Australia, comes home with a clutch of pics of the Opera House. Ditto the Taj Majal and Niagara Falls. All magnificent places, but so often photographed. So how does one take portraits of such icons?
Looking for unusual angles, light is one answer. I took my cue from a fabulous black and white photo in a shop in Darling Harbour and created this image, shooting into a blazing sun. Cropped, levels played with, some dodging and burning, cloning ....and so on.
