When All goes Quiet, a photo from Shan, North

Photographer's Note

It seems like nothing is disturbing this peaceful scene and nothing was.

I was gliding along the little side channels of Inle Lake in a canoe and except for the soft sound as the canoe caresses the water surface, nothing was interrupting this moment of perfect silence.

The sun was slowly disappearing behind the hills surrounding Inle Lake and I was mesmerized by the magical light before dusk. I wanted to capture the stillness of that very moment as well as the deafening silence and transmit a fraction of its pure beauty so I could carry it with me, for moments surrendered to stress.

I wish I could return once every day to this very spot, contemplating the beautifully patterned house by the lake and enjoy the moment when all goes quiet.

The Inle Lake...peace, calm, fresh air, cold night and wonderful landscape, jumping cats and monastry in the middle of the water. that is waht i remember, and for a large part there is in your beautiful image Sabine.

Bonjour Sabine,
une maison qui tient par miracle, elle a l'air de vouloir s'écrouler.
Un paysage très paisible, comme l'évoque le titre de la photo , qui est bien choisi.
Une agréable sensation de douceur de l'air et de lumières amies, un silence agréable que l'on devien aussi.

ce qi marche ici c'est cette densité de couleur dans le bleu du ciel et celui de cette étendue d'eau.

Qqc m'intrique depuis qq temps sur tes photo, cette cette couleur ou lumière qui tombe sur ces montagnes: une lumière mi-rose, mi-orange ... est-ce la couleur de la terre, d'un vegetation particulière ... en touc cas la lumière qui s'y reflechie m'intrique ...

What a lovely serene image with great light. It has great colour toning with excellent sharpness even in the smallest detail. Pure reflection and i love the waves rolling from the left corner to the center of the image.

Look at the fantastic photogs that love this photo. Ill modestly add myself to the list of admirers. As I lookd through the gallery, this immediately drew me. Its really a beautiful shot, well worth taking. A moment of superb peace, even the water is silent and still. For me, its all about mood in phootgraphy. So thats what I wanted to comment on here.

een beetje een gelijkaardige foto heb ik net gepost, maar hier is het stukken kouder, denk ik. Er zaten toch geen krokodillen in het water ? Mooie kleuren !

I have just returned from venice and thought that I was all done for looking at refelctions, but this is so clear so helder, you can smell the freshness in the air. The slight ripple of the water adds the final touch.

Comme tu le dis ça a l'air bien calme ici. L'eau ne contiendrait pas des petites bêtes pas trop sympa ? Je ne m'y fierais pas....En tout cas beaux reflets et excellent cadrage.

Your Myanmar images are really all very fine, this one no exception!
Composition wise you keep your personal style, well balanced and always with a focal point...
Colours of the setting sun add warmth to the scenery, that indeed looks like very peaceful!
