Photographer’s Note

A shot of streetlife in a dark tunnel of shops in the Belgrave Road area in Leicester.

I was attracted to this woman gazing into the brightly lit shop window, I felt she liked the clothes on the mannequins and was making a mental note on her wishlist or maybe she was thinking back to her younger years.

Also, I liked the way the shopdoor is slightly ajar with the shopkeeper in view unaware of the woman outside.

Hello Trish,
First of all welcome to TE!
I basically like what you're doing here, the vibrant colors of the saris, the woman in shadow staring at them, the atmosphere of Asian Leicester.
I think though, the image could be cropped more effectively. I've done a rather brutal Workshop that end up in a uare format (something I never normally use...) It's just another way to look at the scene.

Good job here...your perseverence is paying off and I can see some ideas coming together...really good idea to have waited to catch the man in the background...it shows you are thinking more about the composition...

This is really good...I would like to see some more attempts at street photography...be armed and ready!

I thought I had written something to this picture already but obviously not! I really like the full frame here - the man in the background adds a dimension to the 'story' - it gives the woman somewhere to go in the image - it adds to her moment of longing or indecision - Francis made useful crop perhaps but you actually tell a much more interesting stgory with your clever composition.

Great thinking behind the composition...
Timing was also tooooooooo good to cover lady & shopkeeper ..on there respective positions..
One can say the perfect set of realisam ..

Another fine piece of street photography, though I think you could have made more of this by raising the tones in the shadows, adjusting the curves in PS might have helped here.
