Photographer’s Note
The writing on the wall reads "Everything for the front" in Russian. According to my dad this was a pretty popular piece of graffiti in Soviet Russia during World War 2 and was used as a piece of propoganda. What makes it interesting is that it was shot a couple months ago, in the center of Manchester of all places. Someone has also placed a small wood cross, that you can make out in the bottom left corner, which makes me wonder as to who wrote this and why.

Hi Vlad,
It's a shame to see this shot still without any feedback or comments.
Certainly an interesting scene, especially in Manchester. Do you think there is any significance to the charred boards?
Thanks for sharing. Lewis.

It is really interesting to see such a writing and a cross in the centre of Manchester. The whole slogan was "Everything for the front"Everything for a victory!" and its aim was to encourage soviet workers to produce more weapons for the army.Good photo.
