Photographer’s Note

11:11am.

I used to pass this great old building on my way into work. I snuck away one afternoon and burned up a roll of film on it. None of the images actually came out all that great.

Several years later I took the image into Photoshop and started playing around with blending modes. I was able to duplicate the layer, gaussian blur it and blend it with the layer below.

It's been a long time since I did this image, so I'm sorry I don't have the particulars. What I've always liked about this image is I took a roll of regular film and gave it a look like infra-red.

I'd love to know what you think...

Trey,

This feels like a flashback in an old b&w or end times feel because of the church. I realy like the affect you have created here. Have you tried to cropping it differently? For some reaon my eye seems to get stuck in the upper left hand corner. It could be because the roof and the tower seem to trap the sky in that corner. I will try to come back and do a WS when I have time.

I tried re-cropping your photo in PS and have found that I like yours best.

I like it. I has a good vibe to it.

I think the very dark bar accross the bottom is a bit distracting for me. I loose a lot of detail and dont really understand what it is. then the blown out street makes a strange division, but over all i think it is an interesting shot.

Lot of atmosphere due to the B/W and the sky seemed menacing. I like the blurred effect on dark and it gives good contrast on the composition. TFS
