Photographer’s Note
Kanchanaburi Province, about one hour by car from the town of Kanchanaburi, east of Bangkok.
A little cab has taken refuge in this forest monastery... since when he was still an orphaned cub, barely alive.
Luckily local villagers found him.
But as they went from place to place seeking help, no one dared to take the little creature in.
Upond his arrival at this forest monastery, the Abbot-Pra Acharn Phusit (Chan) welcomed the little orphan out of compassion, and saved him from certain death.
Since then many more orphaned tigers found refuge under the abbot's loving care.
Though these tigers grew up and look healthy, they don't have enough instinct to survive the wild as hunters; anyway their offspring still have a chance to be trained for their eventual return to... the jungle.
...with compassion from each of us, "together" we can make it happen...
From the little book of the project.
Thanks to te monks the "New Home for tigers" is being constructed on 12 Acres of forested land at Wat Pa Luangta Bua Yanasampanno Forest Monastery, in Saiyok District of Kanchanaburi Province.
If you are in that area, go there, it's a beautiful experience; the entrance ticket is quiet expensive (for local standard) but it's for a good cause.

Andrea, Nice brave shot. I like the blured background which makes the foreground more catchy.

Ciao Andrea,
LOL walking the cat, a funny image indeed !
It's pity they are not walking towards you but you caught well the monk half turned and we can feel his authority from the pointing and visage, better have good self confident when dealing with such cats. A good note to back and a post of good "Learn about the world" value.
Have a nice day,

Hi Andrea,
Wow, I'm so excited when I see this picture! Because I've been watching it in Discovery Channel (or National Geographic) for many times already and I always wanted to visit that temple. This monk is the leading monk in charge of the whole tiger project. You've managed to captured good expression of him. Thanks for sharing!
Regards, Jino
