Winter Surprise Photo

Photographer’s Note

I found this flower growing in a public garden on the campus of Stephen F. Austin University. This time of year the garden is mostly brown with very few flowers. There are benches and bridges that are nice for taking photos. I stumbled on 4 or 5 of these Irises growing in a shaded bed and thought they were a beautiful site in the barren garden. Post-processing consisted of auto-levels, auto-contrast, and u.s.m. 379, .4, 7

Lovely colors, and very good DOF and details. Just one thing, I don't really like the frame, too heavy for me. Nice shot anyway !

De très jolie couleur du a la lumière qui rentre dedans .les détails osnt aussi tres bon.
La cadrage aurai mérité d'etre coupé sur la droite pour enlever la feuille bleu qui n'aporte rien .

Pour le cadre je rejoins mireille , il n'est pas adapter je pense.

The flower may be too centered, and I think the black frame was not necessary. But apart from that !... what a macro !!!
Excellent DOF, details are so nice... The light is soft, as if this charming thing was under an umbrella ;-)

Une jolie fleur, oui le cadre n'est pas indispensable..
question photo, c'est le défault des numériques, on ne controle pas la profondeur de champs..
Mais le bleu est ma couleur préférée!!

It's beautiful, Stephen, you did an excellent macro job. Shrpness, subject, colors, orientation are all great. Well done.
I don't like the double frame. It is mich too heavy.

This is a great macro shot Stephen. NIce and sharp details in the pattern and an intrestinf DOF. Here we will have to wait for a couple of more months before we can enjoy any Irisis.
