Photographer’s Note
I am just back from an extended weekend trip with some friends to Hatzera anticline - one of the four anticlines that dominate the center of the Negev desert.
In the heart of three of these anticlines there are erosion craters. In my opinion, the one in the Hatzera anticline, called Hatzera crater or the small crater (since it is the smallest), is the most beautiful of the three.
In the next days I will post some photos from the trip.
The first photo was taken at the starting point of the trip, near Ein Yorke'am which is a spring that was used as water supplier for a Roman bastion that stood not far from it. You can see the Roman steps leading to the spring in the middle of the photo.
In the background you can see Nahal Hatira, a dry wadi that crosses the Hatzera anticline.
