Photographer’s Note

This is a the entrance to the Oxford University Botanic Garden with the tower from Magdalen College in the background.
The University of Oxford Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in Great Britain. Throughout its three hundred and eighty year history the Garden has continually evolved and developed to the point that today it is recognised as a classic yet contemporary botanic garden at the heart of the University and City of Oxford.
Magdalen College (pronounced Maudlin) was founded in 1458. The Great Tower pictured stands 144 feet high and the corner stone for it was laid in August 1492. The building took 17 years to finish.

The soft colours are well absorbed in this shot.
The details are intersting,the style is very simple but the picture is outstanding.

Magdalen College, my favourite building in Oxford. Beautifully framed from the inside of the Botanical Gardens. I love the contrast of the sandstone with the green and the blue. Lovely and crisp.
