Photographer’s Note

Unique feature of Tampere city: Factories that were built on the banks of Tammerkoski rapids 130 years ago are still producing state-of-the-art packaging materials - right in the middle of the busy downtown of the second biggest city in Finland!

The factory has, of course, to take good care of the emissions coming out of the pipes so it's mostly just pure water vapour... But it looks cool especially when the temperature is -25°C like the day I took this picture. It's so cold that even the lake was producing vapours. Brrr...

The biggest problem with taking photos at the these temperatures is that the battery won't last for many pictures, especially if you are using flash. I also had to boot the camera once because the software crashed and the camera gave me an error message... I hadn't seen a camera crash before :)
