Photographer’s Note
I met this man in Rajnagar village which is about 10 kilometres outside of Chamba. He had just built a new house and was keen to have his photo taken standing in its traditional style doorway.
Door are important in India. Amongst the intricate carving you may be able to make out Ganesh on the cross beams and a couple of figure wearing local dress at the bottom of the supports.
As usual I've posted the colour original as a workshop for those who want to compare.

Hi Rich!
I like the colour version better; the details of carving on and above the arch are clearer, plus the colour of the wood which is close to natural. Sometimes Chamba people can be as dumb as to paint the whole thing an ugly shade of blue! I have seen it.
Needless to say, the door exemplifies how much work and creativity must have gone into making it.
Regards,
Ram
