Photographer’s Note

Le Parc de la Tête d'Or (en pleine ville de Lyon) s'étend sur plus de 100 hectares. On y trouve un lac de 16 hectares, prairies, jardins zoologique et botanique et, bientôt (fin 2006), une plaine africaine accueillera des groupes d’ongulés et d’oiseaux africains. Ici, nous voyons une partie du chemin de fer emprunté par le petit train touristique pour faire visiter ce parc. Le tour de ce parc fait à peu près 4 kilomètres et offre un beau parcours pour faire son footing.

Hi Xavier,
I'm always interested in railway shots and this one is no exception. Great choice of B&W! Works really well. The quality of lighting's very good. Personally I'd like it to be zoomed out slightly and less tightly cropped. But this works well, too. Great pic.

Tu semblais particulièrement attiré par les chemins jusque-là (avec bonheur) et tu y ajoutes le fer... Une belle image, bien composée comme de coutûme, le traitement sépia est fort heureux. Bravo. Gérard

je savais bien que je verrai une photo du parc, le choix du sépia est judicieux pour un effet rétro avec ces rails, un bon travail sur cette image

the sepia tones are perfect for that image. it seems took decades ago.

Bonjour Xavier,
un traitement vieillissant bien à propos et bien dosé.
Cette voie qui a l'air si fragile, ne pouvant qu'accueillir ce petit train qui arpenste ce parc qui sans doute révèle plus d'un charme.
Un cadrage bien étudié.
Un format carré aurait encore vieilli la photo je pense.

Tu as encore posté une très belle photo. Cette voie qui serpente pour suivre la berge nous amène à ces arbres magnifiques. Le sépia donne une atmosphère très douce à l'ensemble.

Nice spehia toning effect. The tree standing loney in the mid of the railway and the lake are quite interesting and compose.
But I prefer the allow more space to the lake and above th sky rather than making the tree like forcing into the framing.

voici une présentation du Parc de la Tête d'Or tout à fait originale, je ne savais même pas qu'il y'avait un train là-bas !
Cela me rappelle des souvenirs d'enfance, notemment une girafe ;)
Bonne photo à l'effet sépia tout à fait bienvenu, et ta compo est extra.

tres belle composition, la diagonalle de la cote coupe la diagonalle de tronc d'arbre, et les lignes de fer donnent une profondeur tres bonne...
est-ce que tu pourrais envoyer en WS la photo originale, avec les couleurs? ca serrait interessante...

I like that kind of theme (old tracks) very much, and you brought us a stunning shot on that.

The monochrome election, contrast, frame, composition, POV... all add in creating a beautiful image, with a very special atmosphere... timelessness.

Hi Xavier, A nice scenery view along the small railroad on the side of the lake. Thanks for posting the color version. To me, I prefer the colored version. The B&W version, one the other hand, provides a good light contrast and timeless feeling of the enjoyment to the park.

Lonely trees allways give wonderful shots,but in here what attracts me more is this raillway. It's really attractive and it must be a fun and pleasant way to see the Park.
Good POV and composition and well done with the Sepia option. I like the colour version, but the atmosphere on this one works perfectly! Very good work!

Belle perspective le long des rails. J'aime bien comment la ligne de la barrière les suivent. Les contrastes ressortent très bien grâce au sépia. C'est beau.

This is one of my favourite photos. The composition is perfect with the tree and delicate tracery of the branches and the little railway track giving brilliant perspective and leading the eye through the image. The whole image is given a nostalgic air by your use of sepia toning.

Hi Xavier,
A very well composed shot which works well in the sepia format. I love the way the railway tracks take the eye immediately into the frame and then how the tree overwhelms the scene. The water actually ends up balancing the rail line and tree very nicely. A fine shot, well captured.

C'est une tres tres belle bichromie que tu presentes la . j'aime particulierement le premier plan et notement les graviers clairs. Peut etre pourrais tu aussi avec l'outil densité +a 10% assombrir le ciel mais bon la c'est par rapport a mon gout.

Y'a pas photo ;=))), pour ce genre d'ambiance, le sepia c'est top. On se retrouver au siècle dernier, on voyage dans le temps, on part...
C'est top.
Le cadrage est nickel et cet arbre est assez impressionnant.

Une vraiment superbe composition avec cet arbre très esthetique et ce rail qui donne une ambiance trés sympa, j'aime bien ce noir et blanc légérement sepia mais je prefere presque l'original:-))

Mais j'avoue que ce petit chemin de fer est tout adorable, et la conversion sepia y est pour bcp dans ce cote nostalgique. Une belle prise (au depart) que tu as su ameliorer en PP. Bien vu

Pas trop sur le site ces derniers temps et je viens un peu tard à ce petit chef d'oeuve d'ambiance avec le sepia.
Pour moi c'est vraiment une toute bonne avec les rails nostalgiques et poetique (plus qu'une ligne droite de TGV et cet arbre qui couve ce paysage.

Quelle belle fuyante ! Et cet arbre du premier plan, on dirait que tu l'as dessiné pour coller à la photo. Parfait, vraiment, je ne vois pas détail qui choque. Tout est là où il doit être. La version couleur me plait aussi, je ne saurais que choisir.
