Photographer’s Note

Taken at Holmes Lake in Lincoln, NE, the photo kind of gives the illusion that perhaps it is warm, but no, the lake itself is a bit frozen. What a wonderful place to sit and watch the sunset though. Holmes Lake is a man-made lake, and was recently "renovated" by removing all the water and refilling as a part of an aquatic habitat restoration program, the park had jogging trails and bridges put in, and it is a wonderful place to spend any warm day!

Perhaps the lighting could be a little better...I do like the idea of solitude and peacefulness!

I also like the idea of solitude and peacefulness, Jennifer, and that is certainly an excellent place to have it; I also like this perspective very much, although I think you will be able to get much better results of your new camera! The silhouettes of the trees are good and I liked to "feel" the atmosphere of this beautiful place! Keep always shooting and improving your skills!
