Photographer’s Note

This is only one clip of the enormous reliefs carved in the Angkor Wat.

The reliefs in the Angkor temple were a tribute to the Hindu God Vishnu. Therefore one can see the great Hindu epics of Mahabharata and Ramayana intricately carved on the enormously long walls.

This particular picture depicts the monkey God Hanuman killing a Rakshasa(demon) at the very center, in the famous war between the monkeys and demons.

I changed the picture to B/W and increased the contrast.

A good picture. But I thought you have increased the contrast a bit too much. The reliefs are virtually 2D (not much depth) & hence too much contrast affects the pic. This is my opinion though.

anuradha,
i disagree with anghsu here. raised contrast gives this shot some mood and drama. great idea to post it in b/w. a well seen and captured piece of fast vanishing history.

A good photo presented beautifully in B/W.
I think the contrasts work well and bring out the main aspect of the relief.
The POV also works to great effect.

I think that the light position is fantastic, it succeed giving to the picture a plump form.

Nice shot.
Lot of action.
FLash is blast in the center & over exposed that area. But it is really matches to this shot.
Very well done.
Only 1 thing..Just shifting the focus bit upper side would have help to make top right/Left areas visible which are totally darker.

After all nice image.
Great work.

Yes good reflections of this close up shot. Good definition, and great dark atmosphere that linked with the scene fits very well here.
