Photographer’s Note
This was takening during a whirling ceremony put on by the Dervish Whirlers. Apparently this is how they pray. I t was pretty amazing to see these people spinning round and round for so long.

Amazing!! I've never seen a whirling dervish; thank you. Now I will always have this image in my mind when I think of the phrase 'Whirling Dervis.' I usually don't like B&W, but in your composition, I think this choice makes the dancers stand out like beautiful flowers while decreasing the the importance of the background.
Remember whirling until you were dizzy as a cild? Perhaps this is a way to enter an altered state of consiousness.
