Photographer’s Note

This is classic photo of Collioure harbour. But it is so beautiful, so I decided to share.
Collioure was a very important harbour during the Greek and Phoenician times. As early as the great Antiquity, cauco Illiberis was visited by the famoust civilizations of the Mediterranean countries. After the Wisigoths and the Saracens incursions, Collioure was fortified during the Carolingiens time. From the XIIth to the XVIIth centuries Collioure was alternately annexed to the kingdoms of Aragon, Majorca and France. The town definitely returned to France in 1659 (Treaty of the Pyrenees).
In 1905, Matisse and Derain discovered Collioure. They found the colours and light dazzlingly beautiful and invented the Fauvist Art. Today, all along the " Fauvism footpath ", you will discover 20 reproductions displayed on the spots where the original works were painted.

Picasso, Dali, Juan Gris, Hanicotte, Foujita falled also in love with Collioure.
Poetry, as well has left its mark on the town. The famous spanish poet Antonio Machado sleeps for ever in the old cemetery. Every year in February, his memory is honoured. Another famous writer buried in the new cemetery, Patrick O' Brian.

Yes, classic but still attractive.
Nice shot, with amazing colors and typical french south coast.
I like this daily life shot with the colorful boats in the foreground.

Bonjour mon ami Jan,
Pour confirmer votre note, le groupe d'artistes fauves en France est constitué autour de Matisse, Derain, Vlaminck, rejoints par Van Dongen puis Braque, Marquet, Dufy...A la différence de beaucoup d’autres mouvements artistiques et notamment de l’impressionnisme, le fauvisme ne se présentait pas comme un groupe d’artistes homogènes, mais plutôt comme des peintres partageant un même besoin de représenter les choses telles qu’ils les voyaient et non telles qu’elles étaient réellement.
Collioure bénéficie d'une très belle lumière.
Très belle représentation d'une partie de la ville.
J'aime beaucoup.

Bardzo wiele dzieje siê na tej fotografii. Jest wbrew pozorom dynamiczna, prawie wyczyuwa siê lekkie ko³ysanie masztów ³odzi przy nabrze¿u. ³adny kadr, bardzo dobre nasycenie kolorów, boczne ¶wiat³o ³adnie wypracowa³o delikatne cienie dodatkowo dynamizuj±ce obraz.

The pov is good and creates a strange perspective : the scale is quite hard to understand. The building seems to be small but I suppose it is actually a big one. I imagine it's because of your zoom.
