Photographer’s Note
One of the most fascinating pieces of architecture in the world, San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge is also one of the most widely photographed structures in the world.
Post-processing work on this photo includes the conversion to black and white and a little unsharp mask work. This was taken with an HP PhotoSmart 320 2.1 megapixel point-and-shoot camera. I personally believe the B&W conversion gives it a little bit more of an old-time feel and helps disguise the lack of quality that exists in the color version at only 2.1 MPs.

This looks like it was taken from Fort Point. The black and white is a great choice and does in fact make it appear very old world. Even though I see this bridge very very often I never get tired of admiring it and marveling at this feat brought about by the efforts of so many.
Well done.

I think the B&W adds a nice effect, especially with the fog. Good composition and POV.

Nice viewpoint & I really do think that the conversion to B&W works well. The grain in the photo adds to the overall quality.

Great B&W fog effects here. I think you are right about the enhanvcing effects here whereas in a colour shot it may well just look like bad quality.
