Photographer’s Note
I have seen many photos of Uluru (Ayers Rock) but this is as close as I have ever been to it. I think we were about 30,000ft above it, flying in a Qantas Longreach on a morning flight from Melbourne to Singapore. The photo was a little dull, taken through the plane window, so I enhanced it ever so slightly in photoshop but basicly this is how it was. I don't think I have ever seen "the rock" from this perspective (or altitude) and may never again. So, while it may not be a technically perfect photo, I think it is worth showing for its unusual view. The irregular shape is quite striking. Also, you can just make out the near by settlement.

Hi Paul,
It's like an opal gem in that hazy light from so high above. I guess a lot could be done to contrast etc. but this looks quite realistic.
I like the abstract touch in this version.

Hi Paul and welcome to TE.
A very strange view covering the entire rock.
I like the way shadows enhance the peaks.
I tried a workshop and I'll tell you what i did to enhance the photo.

Hi Paul, welocme to TE! It is a perspective that few people are lucky enough to get, and even more unusual is the fact that you seem to be right on top of the rock, as opposed to being off to one side, which probably made the shot even harder to get!
I don't think the technical element of the photo is that important here, but actually getting the shot in the first place is what makes it special.

Your name is Weston, so you MUST be a great photographer!! Welcome to TE , you are starting to work very well with us.
This pic is really interesting, and also the note. It is a pity that the quality is not very good, I tried a little simple Workshop to get it sharper.

Hi Paul,
Good sharing information by your notes and also for your unusual aerial capture and view of this Ayers Rock. Sometimes is best to post a not so good picture but that have other approach, information or simple view. From a aerial view is nicely done. It's allways a difficult shot and I have alresdy posted in my Portfolio some. Good perspective and also a fine composition.
Congratulations and Thanks for Sharing.
Best Regards.

Interesting. It is pretty good givem the conditions you were in totake this picture
How lucky you are to have seen Uluru from the air. By the way, the lower part on your photo is the access point to climb Uluru. The Anangu traditional landowner do not want us to climb Uluru. I did the 10km walk around - spectacular. Now I can see where I went! I wonder if the white dots are houses. My map shows a road leading there but indicated "No entry"

Great picture. I really the shadow the stone makes. I have done a workshop though as the colours were a bit washed to my taste. I hope you don't mind.

Hi Paul - original angle so view will evetr get to see, it does need more contrast, and the ws versions show the potential, perhaps with alekpet's version being the most appealing.
